Symptoms v Cause

Imagine you are driving home on a wet and windy night, when you notice a red light flashing on the dashboard. You haven’t seen it before so are uncertain what it may mean. You go to a garage, speak to the manager, explaining the problem. He replies that it is 4.45 on a Friday but will see what the mechanic says… Ah! He will see to it now for you.

Relieved, you go into the office to wait. You still have a long way to go. Meanwhile the mechanic takes the car into the workshop, checks his watch, makes a cup of tea, reads the paper, checks the time, takes out the “problem bulb” behind the dash board, then returns your car. You get in, pleased to see the light is no longer flashing and set off home.

The symptom has been removed, but has the cause?

Would you get home safely?

It is the same with your health. Relieving the symptom helps in the short term, but unless you find the cause, the symptoms will keep coming back. There can be many causes. Dr. Chattergee (“Doctor in the House”) has identified eight areas of day-to-day life, which, if adjusted, can bring you back to good health: – diet, stress, sleep, physical activity, gut health, infections, environmental toxins, and sunlight. It is quite a list, so where would you start?

Muscle resistance testing, – a branch of Kinesiology – is a means of investigating the main causes of the problem and finding the best place to start. It can help you find the most helpful strategy needed to move you towards better health and energy. Food sensitivity may be a place to start. However, all areas would need to be looked at carefully to ensure they are operating at a level supportive of good health. It is best to deal with a few at a time, introducing others as you go along to avoid overwhelm.
